IDF: Iran Retains Capability for Prolonged Attacks Despite Losses

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) estimate that Iran retains the capability to continue rocket attacks against Israel for an extended period, despite the destruction of 75% of its ballistic missile launchers. The IDF are attempting to reassure Israeli citizens, however, sirens warning of Iranian attacks continue to sound frequently. According to the Israeli military, the number of rockets fired has decreased from around 100 on the first day of the war to about twelve today. However, recent strikes have been reported on Israeli territory, and the rate of rocket launches and sirens have not decreased significantly. The IDF acknowledge that initial success in reducing attacks does not necessarily mean an immediate end to the war, citing the example of Hamas. Despite the destruction of large ballistic missile facilities, it is estimated that around 100-150 launchers remain scattered throughout Iran, making it difficult to significantly reduce attacks. A more realistic expectation, according to the IDF, is to reduce attacks to the point where they no longer cause human casualties, as is the case with the attacks by the Houthis of Yemen.
