“I am a Man of God”: All Dialogues in Maduro’s Trial - The Altercation and Flores’ Bruises

Nicolás Maduro, the former president of Venezuela, appeared in federal court in Manhattan, where he is accused of drug trafficking. The hearing included a heated verbal altercation with a man claiming to have been imprisoned by Maduro’s regime. Maduro protested that he had been “kidnapped” by US forces, while the judge interrupted him. Upon entering the courtroom, Maduro greeted the audience and said in English, “Happy New Year.” His wife, Cilia Flores, also appeared in handcuffs and looked distressed. The next hearing is scheduled for March 17th.
