Hospitalizations Rise in Greece: 3-Year-Old Intubated, 6-Year-Old in ICU with Flu

There is a 30% increase in hospitalizations of children with the flu and RSV in Greece, leading to overcrowded emergency rooms in pediatric hospitals. Two young children, aged 6 and 3, are hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the Agia Sophia Children's Hospital due to flu complications, with the 3-year-old intubated. According to Michalis Giannakou, president of POEDHN, approximately 50 children are admitted to emergency rooms with flu and RSV symptoms per shift, while over 250 children with viral infections visit pediatric hospitals overall.
