Hospital Situation Manageable, Second Wave of Flu Possible in March, Says Health Minister

The Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambides, stated that the situation in hospitals is manageable following an increase in hospitalizations due to seasonal infections, and no additional measures are required. Visits to Accident and Emergency Departments are at the same levels as last year, while the epidemiological picture is similar, possibly even slightly better. The spread of RSV is being closely monitored and guidelines are being issued to relevant stakeholders. Cases of flu, RSV, and COVID are showing a downward trend, but there is a possibility of a second wave of flu in March. The Ministry of Health is updated daily on bed occupancy and promotes vaccination, especially for vulnerable groups.
