Άγνωστοι έκλεψαν τις προτομές των ηρώων της Γερμασόγειας, με τον αντιδήμαρχο να κάνει λόγο για μία ντροπιαστική ενέργεια, που προσβάλλει την ιστορία του τόπου.
Σύμφωνα με τον αντιδήμαρχο Γερμασόγειας, Χρίστο Παπαμιχαήλ «η κλοπή των προτομών των ηρώων της Γερμασόγειας δεν είναι απλώς μια πράξη βανδαλισμού. Είναι μια ντροπιαστική και απολύτως καταδικαστέα ενέργεια, που προσβάλλει την ιστορία και τη μνήμη του τόπου μας».
Ο κ. Παπαμιχαήλ πρόσθεσε ότι «όσοι νομίζουν ότι με τέτοιες πράξεις μπορούν να σβήσουν την προσφορά και τον ηρωισμό αυτών των ανθρώπων, κάνουν μεγάλο λάθος. Ο ηρωισμός τους δεν κλέβεται, δεν καταστρέφεται και δεν ξεχνιέται».
Ο αντιδήμαρχος Γερμασόγειας καταλήγει πως «η κοινωνία μας οφείλει να σταθεί απέναντι σε τέτοια φαινόμενα και να διαφυλάξει την ιστορική της ταυτότητα».

Hero Statues Stolen in Germasogeia - "Insults History"
Unknown perpetrators stole the statues of the heroes of Germasogeia, causing strong condemnation from the Deputy Mayor.
