Heartbreaking Stories of the 5 Workers Who Lost Their Lives at Biolanda

Five women lost their lives in the explosion that occurred at a factory in Trikala, which the local community is mourning. The unfortunate workers, mothers, grandmothers, and wives, worked nights to support their families and secure a better future. Agapi Bounova, the last to be found, was close to completing her working life, with only one year remaining until retirement. She was devoted to her family, caring for her grandchildren and working at the same time. Anastasia Nasiou had returned to Greece just six months ago, after years of living in Germany, hoping to live close to her family. She worked hard to complete her insurance contributions and secure a decent pension. Vasiliki Skampardoni, mother of two young children, worked nights to be available for her children during the day. Elena and Voula, also mothers, worked to meet the needs of their families. The stories of the five women are heartbreaking and highlight the difficulties faced by working mothers in their efforts to combine professional and family life.
