Health Ministry Insists on Discussing Ambulance Authority Bill

The Ministry of Health is insisting on discussing the bill for the National Ambulance Authority in the House Health Committee, despite a request from the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) for a three-week extension. The Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambidis, stated that the Government does not intend to back down from its schedule. OKYPY requested the extension to prepare and submit its own comprehensive plan for the Authority, but the issue remains on the agenda of tomorrow's Committee meeting. The creation of an Independent Ambulance Authority has been pending since 2019, when the Ambulance Service was transferred to OKYPY.
