Health Minister: Hospital Situation Manageable, No Additional Measures Needed

The Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambides, stated that the situation in hospitals is manageable despite increased hospitalizations due to seasonal infections and no additional measures are required. Securing beds from private hospitals is not deemed necessary. The epidemiological picture is similar to last year, perhaps even slightly better. The situation with RSV is being closely monitored and guidelines are being issued. Cases of influenza, RSV, and COVID are declining. The number of deaths from influenza remains at 32. There has been a good response from the public to vaccination, and a vaccine is available for adults. A possible second wave is expected in March, but it is estimated to be milder.
