The Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic, Viktoras Papadopoulos, defended the government's actions and the work of the Social Support Agency, stating his confidence in the integrity of President Nikos Christodoulides. He explained the operation of corporate social responsibility and distinguished the Agency from it, emphasizing that contributions are voluntary and strictly controlled. He argued that the criticism is being instrumentalized and aims to undermine the government's moral standing. Mr. Papadopoulos referred to the President's intention to completely abolish the Agency, as well as the First Lady's decision not to participate in organizations related to it. He dismissed accusations of mismanagement, emphasizing that the government is addressing the crisis with composure and information gathering. Regarding warnings of hybrid warfare, Mr. Papadopoulos questioned what measures could be taken against insidious and unpredictable actions. He stressed that the government operates with transparency and that the Agency's accounts are audited by various bodies, such as the Central Bank, the Auditor General, and the Ministry of Finance.
