He Promised €1,000 to Plant Bombs in a Brewery and a Cafe in Limassol – Two Defendants in Custody

Two defendants involved in attempted property damage with explosives at a brewery and a cafe in Limassol will remain in custody until the start of the trial. The 44-year-old from Sri Lanka confessed that, on the instructions of the 36-year-old Cypriot, he placed explosive devices in the two shops, receiving a promise of €1,000 as payment. The 36-year-old, who was recently released from prison for a drug offense, is considered a suspect for repeating the offenses. According to the testimony of the brewery owner, the 44-year-old was arrested while attempting to place the explosive device, but managed to escape before the police arrived. The defendants face charges of conspiracy, attempted property damage, possession and transport of explosives, as well as motorcycle theft. Police, through security cameras, recorded the movements of the two men and gathered evidence for the case.
