HB: No Evidence Suggesting Iran Aims at Europe

British Housing, Communities and Local Government Minister Steve Reed stated that there is no evidence to support claims that Iran plans to attack Europe with ballistic missiles or that it has the capability to do so. He stated that he has not been briefed on any assessment indicating that Iran is trying to target Europe. Reed also commented on Donald Trump's statements, emphasizing that the US President was speaking for himself when he threatened to "annihilate" Iran's energy production facilities. He confirmed that Britain will not be drawn into war, but will protect its interests in the region and work with its partners to de-escalate the situation. Reed's statement comes after claims by the Israeli military that the launch of two ballistic missiles by Iran towards the base in Diego Garcia proves Tehran's ability to reach European cities such as London, Paris and Berlin. However, Reed disputes this assessment. Reed stressed that Britain will work with its partners to de-escalate the situation, but will protect its interests in the region.
