Spain Bans Energy Drink Sales to Minors

Spain has announced a ban on the sale of energy drinks to minors under the age of 16, with the ban extending to those under 18 for drinks with high caffeine content (over 32mg per 100ml). The decision is based on scientific evidence of the harmful effects of these drinks on the health of young people and has received widespread public support. According to a survey, 25% of Spaniards consume energy drinks at least twice a week, while nearly half (49%) consume one drink per day and 47% mix them with alcohol. The ban adds to the existing ban on sales in schools.
