Guterres' Reports on the Cyprus Issue to the Security Council

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Cyprus, Kazim Diagne, briefed the member states of the UN Security Council on the content of the two reports of the Secretary-General regarding the situation on the island. The briefing took place in closed consultations in New York. Mr. Diagne avoided making statements after the briefing, stating that it was still at an “early stage”. This briefing precedes the Security Council session on January 29, where the renewal of the mandate of the UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) will be discussed.
