Guardian: Trump Administration Plans 5,000-Person Military Base in Gaza

The Trump administration is considering the creation of a military base in Gaza, with a capacity of 5,000 personnel, which will operate as an operational base for a future International Stabilization Force (ISF). The ISF will consist of countries that have committed to contributing troops and will be part of the newly established Peace Council, headed by Donald Trump. The plans involve the construction of a military outpost with armored surveillance towers, a firing range and warehouses. The location is in southern Gaza, while several countries, such as Indonesia, have proposed sending military forces. The UN Security Council has approved the establishment of the ISF, with a mission to secure the borders and maintain order. However, the framework of rules of engagement for the force in the event of hostilities and its role in the possible disarmament of Hamas remain unclear. More than 20 countries have joined the Peace Council, but several states have not participated. The organization's statutes provide for permanent leadership and control by Donald Trump.
