Greece: What Lies Behind the Disappearance of Lora - Testimonies from Classmates

The search for 16-year-old Lora, who disappeared on January 8th from Patras, continues by the Hellenic Police (ELAS). The girl has deactivated her mobile phones and social media accounts, making the work of the police even more difficult. According to authorities, Lora may be in Athens, in the Zografou area, possibly even within the University Campus. A citizen's testimony reports that the 16-year-old appeared in the Varis area on Thursday, visiting a cafe twice. During the second visit, she seemed to recognize herself in a television report about her disappearance and quickly left. Lora's classmates report that the girl was facing problems in her relationship with her father, who is said to have been strict and controlled her mobile phone. The classmates describe a relationship with intense pressure and restrictions from her father's side, while her relationship with her mother was calmer. Lora allegedly always wore baggy clothes and avoided contact with her father. In conversations with her friends, she had expressed her despair and her need to escape the situation. The investigations continue at a rapid pace, while the authorities are examining all possible information and testimonies to locate Lora and ensure her safety.
