Golden Raspberry Awards 2024: 'War of the Worlds' Takes the Crown as Worst Film of the Year

The 46th Golden Raspberry Awards, honoring the worst films of the year, have been announced. 'War of the Worlds' from Prime Video, starring Ice Cube, was the big 'winner,' taking home five of the six awards it was nominated for, including Worst Actor, Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay. Organizers described the film as a “nearly immediate cult classic that everyone loves to hate.” The live-action adaptation of Disney's 'Snow White' also received recognition, with the seven dwarfs winning two awards, as the film was deemed an expensive failure, possibly cursed by Walt Disney himself. Rebel Wilson won the award for Worst Actress for 'Bride Hard,' while Scarlet Rose Stallone was awarded for her role in 'Gunslingers.' Kate Hudson received the 'Razzie Redeemer' award, recognizing her career improvement after previous nominations. The actress is currently nominated for an Oscar for her performance in 'Song Sung Blue.' The awards are voted on by 1,223 members from 50 US states and over 24 countries. This annual event serves as a satirical take on the most unsuccessful films and performances of the year, with the awards being made of plastic and costing $4.97.
