Germany's Importance for Cyprus Tourism Boosted with Increased Flight Connections

Air connectivity between Cyprus and Germany is set to be significantly strengthened, expected to contribute to an increase in tourism from Germany. Ryanair will add nine direct weekly flights from various German airports to Paphos, while Lufthansa will add three regular flights from Munich to Paphos during the summer of 2026. Furthermore, increased activity is observed from tour operators considering strengthening their programs to Cyprus. Germany is a significant market for Cyprus tourism, being the third largest in the world in terms of outbound tourism and the largest economy in Europe. Strengthening the connection with Germany is considered key to further developing the tourism sector in Cyprus, especially during the winter season.
