German Foreign Minister Downplays Risk of 'War' in Greenland

German Foreign Minister Johann Vandefuhl downplayed the risk of a potential US attack on Greenland, responding to statements by Donald Trump regarding the possible acquisition of the territory by the United States. Vandefuhl stated that he has no indication that the US government is seriously considering such a move, adding that there is a common interest in addressing security issues in the Arctic. NATO is in the process of developing more robust plans for the region, which will be discussed with the US. Trump has expressed his desire to acquire Greenland, considering it strategically important for US security against China and Russia, while also criticizing Denmark for allegedly neglecting the area. A delegation from the US Congress will visit Copenhagen to discuss strengthening security in the Arctic and trade relations. The Danish Prime Minister warned that the annexation of Greenland would mean the end of NATO.
