Gabon FA Reverses Decision to Suspend National Team

The Gabon Football Association (FEGAFOOT) has reversed its decision to suspend the national team, just two weeks after the initial announcement. The original punishment was imposed due to the team's disappointing performance at the Africa Cup of Nations. The federation had strongly criticized the team's performance and left open the possibility of excluding key players, such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bruno Ekuele Manga. However, the arrival of the new Minister of Sports, Paul Ulrich Kesani, who requested the immediate restart of the competitive program, led to the reversal of the decision. Gabon finished bottom of their group at the Africa Cup of Nations, suffering three defeats. Nevertheless, the team had performed better in the World Cup qualifiers, finishing second behind Ivory Coast. The reversal of the decision marks a new beginning for the Gabon national team, which will seek to improve its performance and compete for a place in the next major tournaments.
