G7 Calls for Immediate Halt to Iranian Attacks in Middle East

The Foreign Ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) countries condemn Iran's attacks on countries in the Middle East and demand their immediate and unconditional cessation. The G7 expresses its support for its partners in the region against the attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran and its allies. Iran responded to the US and Israeli air campaign by attacking Western military targets, energy infrastructure, and non-military facilities. The G7 supports the right of countries under attack to defend their territory and citizens. Furthermore, the G7 emphasizes the importance of maintaining sea lanes and navigational safety, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the security of supply chains and the stability of energy markets. The disruption of ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz has raised concerns. The joint statement by the G7 Foreign Ministers (Germany, Canada, United States, France, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, and the EU High Representative) expresses the G7's determination to maintain regional stability and prevent further escalation of tensions.
