Μια μόνο υποψηφιότητα υποβλήθηκε για την θέση του Προέδρου της ΕΣΚ, από τον νυν Πρόεδρο της οργάνωσης, Γιώργο Φράγκο και έξι υποψηφιότητες για τις ισάριθμες θέσεις του Διοικτικού Συμβουλίου.
Σύμφωνα με ανακοίνωση της Ενωσης Συντακτών Κύπρου, η υποβολή υποψηφιοτήτων ολοκληρώθηκε χθες και το απερχόμενο ΔΣ επικύρωσε σήμερα τον κατάλογο των υποψηφίων.
Με βάση τις πρόνοιες του καταστατικού της οργάνωσης ο Γιώργος Φράγκος επανεκλέγεται άνευ ανθυποψηφίου για μία τριετή θητεία.
Καθώς, οι υποψηφιότητες για τις θέσεις των Μελών του Δ.Σ. είναι ίσες με τον αριθμό που απαιτείται για τη συμπλήρωση των θέσεων, η Εκλογική Γενική Συνέλευση στις 4 Φεβρουαρίου θα κληθεί να επικυρώσει ή μη την εκλογή τους χωρίς εκλογική διαδικασία. Καλούνται τα μέλη της οργάνωσης για την όσο το δυνατό μαζικότερη παρουσία τους στη Συνέλευση.
Υποψηφιότητες για τη θέση των μελών του ΔΣ κατά αλφαβητική σειρά υπέβαλλαν οι Αντωνίου Σταύρος, Γεωργίου Δήμητρα, Κωνσταντίνου Ελένη, Μακρίδης Φάνης, Μαραθοβουνιώτης Στέλιος και Χριστοδούλου Ιωάννα.
G. Frangos Re-elected as President of the Union of Cyprus Journalists
George Frangos was re-elected president of the Union of Cyprus Journalists (UCJ) unopposed, as only one candidacy was submitted for the position. Six candidacies were also submitted for the six positions on the Administrative Council, meaning no election process is required. The submission of candidacies was completed yesterday, and the outgoing Administrative Council approved the list of candidates today. George Frangos will serve as president of the UCJ for a three-year term. The candidates for the positions of members of the Administrative Council are Antonious Stavros, Georgiou Dimitra, Konstantinou Eleni, Makridis Fanis, Marathovouniotis Stelios, and Christodoulou Ioanna. The Electoral General Assembly, which will be held on February 4th, will be called upon to ratify or not their election. The UCJ calls on its members to attend the Assembly in large numbers in order to participate in the ratification of the candidates and express their opinion on the future of the organization.
