Fytiris Travels to Athens - Meetings to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation in Maritime and Internal Security

The Minister of Justice and Public Order, Kostas Fytiris, will travel to Athens on Monday, January 12, 2026, to meet with the Ministers of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vassilis Kikilias, Justice, Georgios Floridis, and Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis. The meetings will focus on strengthening Cyprus-Greece cooperation in matters of maritime security, law enforcement, justice and police cooperation. The priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU will also be discussed. As part of the visit, Mr. Fytiris will brief his Greek counterparts on the Informal Council on Justice and Home Affairs, which will take place in Nicosia on January 21-23, 2026. The Minister of Justice's visit is part of efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation in critical areas of security and justice.
