Fuel Prices: Are Government Measures Sufficient? – Gasoline Above 2 Euros

Gasoline prices have exceeded 2 euros per liter, while diesel is moving around 2.05-2.10 euros. The government has activated subsidy measures for diesel and the Fuel Pass, totaling around 230 million euros, to contain costs. However, the impact of the measures is limited, as prices have already incorporated the international rise in oil. Furthermore, the Greek approach, based on subsidies rather than tax cuts, as in other European countries, does not reverse the high level of costs, but acts as partial compensation. Widespread inflation is exacerbated by the fact that price increases have already passed through the supply chain.
