Former Bishop of Paphos to Appeal to Civil Courts for Reinstatement

The former Bishop of Paphos, Tychikos, has informed the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus of his intention to appeal to civil courts. The purpose of the appeal is to reclaim the Metropolitan seat of Paphos, which he claims he legally held following an electoral process. Bishop Tychikos expressed his gratitude to the Synod and notified them of his decision to pursue legal avenues to restore his position. Furthermore, the Holy Synod is scheduled to discuss the issue of Tychikos at its meeting on January 8th. The agenda also includes the Archbishop of Cyprus' proposal to amend the Church's charter, specifically regarding the election process for Metropolitan Bishops and Bishops by the Holy Synod, and the Archbishop by the people.
