Foot and Mouth Disease Outbreak in Cyprus: Cases Detected in Illegal Holding

New cases of foot and mouth disease have been detected in livestock units in the province of Larnaca, specifically in Livadia and Dromolaxia. All cases involve sheep and goats and were found within the three-kilometer infected area. Additionally, positive cattle were found in an illegal holding in Livadia, which are being culled. The Government assures that it stands by those affected and is working to find optimal solutions. The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, stated that he has received the letter from the agricultural organizations and has initiated the necessary actions. He also emphasized the importance of managing the issue in the free and occupied areas and the priority that the Government gives to Health and Education.
