Foot-and-Mouth Disease: Immediate Start of Vaccinations Decided

The meeting of the European Commission experts on foot-and-mouth disease has concluded, with extensive information provided on the epidemiological situation in the 10-kilometer surveillance zone. It was decided to immediately begin vaccinations, in collaboration with private veterinarians familiar with livestock units. A meeting will be held today with veterinarians for information and planning of the vaccination program. Further details will be given at 10:30 a.m. in statements.
