Foot-and-Mouth Disease: Cases Remain Stable - 38 Affected Units

Laboratory tests for foot-and-mouth disease have been completed without detecting new cases, however, the number of affected livestock units remains stable at 38. The management of foot-and-mouth disease will be discussed at the Cabinet meeting on Monday, as announced by President Christodoulides. Sotiria Grigoriadou, Senior Veterinary Officer, emphasized that the stabilization of cases is positive, but could be reversed if difficulties in the culling of affected animals continue. President Christodoulides described the situation as difficult and stressed the need for bold decisions, while assuring that the Cabinet will decide on a specific plan to support livestock farming.
