First Visit of Charalambidis to Nicosia General Hospital: Promises of Upgrade Amid Complaints and Shortcomings

The Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambidis, made his first visit to the Nicosia General Hospital, stating that the Government aims to continuously upgrade all public hospitals in Cyprus. The goal is to improve infrastructure, medical technology equipment, and the services provided. During the visit, the Minister met with department and clinic directors, discussing the needs and challenges of the hospital. He also visited the departments and clinics, talking to medical, nursing, and paramedical staff. In response to questions about potential problems, the Minister stated that discussions focused primarily on patient complaints, which he generally characterized as satisfactory. He also mentioned an issue of food quality, mainly at Limassol Hospital, and pledged to take measures to address it. The Minister of Health emphasized that the infrastructure in public hospitals is old, but the Government is implementing upgrade projects worth over 145 million euros to improve services and facilities.
