First Images from Next-Generation European Weather Satellite

The European Space Agency (ESA) has released the first images from the new geostationary satellite Meteosat Third Generation-Sounder (MTG). The satellite, presented at the European Space Conference in Brussels, will provide high-precision data on temperature and humidity, significantly improving weather forecasting in Europe and North Africa. The satellite's geostationary position allows for continuous monitoring of the same area, providing data every 15 minutes. Additionally, it provides new temperature and humidity data every 30 minutes, combined with data on clouds and lightning from the MTG-Imager. MTG represents a significant investment in Earth observation and addressing climate and environmental challenges.
