The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, announced that the goal is to send the first quantities of Cypriot natural gas to Europe via Egypt. Work to achieve this goal must be completed by the end of March, when the President will travel to Egypt to participate in the Energy Forum in Cairo. In a meeting with a representative of ENI, Mr. Christodoulides emphasized the importance of developing the 'Cronos' field for Cyprus, Egypt, and Europe. He expressed his hope for the finalization of the completion work as soon as possible. The first development will come from the plots in Cyprus's EEZ and is expected to have a significant positive impact on the country's economy and people. ENI has already invested $1.2 billion in Cyprus. The agreement between Cyprus, Egypt, ENI, and TOTAL paves the way for the completion of the project and the exploitation of Cyprus's energy resources.
