Father Arrested in Cyprus Over Shaken Baby Syndrome Case

A tragic incident occurred in Cyprus, where a three-month-old baby is hospitalized in critical condition with shaken baby syndrome. The baby's father, 28, has been arrested and is being held for four days as a suspect in serious offenses, including causing grievous bodily harm and child abuse. According to the Police, there were previous reports of abuse against the father. The baby was taken to Makarios Hospital in serious condition, where it was found to have brain hemorrhages and required surgery. The father denies any involvement, but the Court ruled that there is reasonable suspicion of his involvement in the baby's injury, given that he was alone with the child when the incident occurred. The case is being investigated by the Limassol TAE. The incident has shocked public opinion and highlighted the problem of violence against children. Authorities are called upon to fully investigate the case and ensure that those involved are held accountable.
