Fatal Car Accident in Paphos Claims Life of 32-Year-Old

A 32-year-old man, Stylianos Genis from Geroskipou, lost his life in a fatal car accident in Paphos on Saturday morning. He was driving on a rural road between Pentalia and Amargeti when he lost control of his vehicle and fell into a ravine approximately 15 meters deep. Police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene and extricated the driver, who unfortunately had already passed away. The rescue operation was challenging, as firefighters used specialized rescue equipment to recover the vehicle and the unfortunate man. He was transported to a hospital, but it was too late. According to reports, Stylianos was in the area with a 35-year-old friend to train their hunting dogs. His friend had exited the vehicle shortly before the accident. The Paphos Traffic Police are investigating the cause of the accident, without ruling out the possibility that rain may have contributed to the road's slipperiness and the loss of vehicle control. The tragedy has plunged the local community into mourning.
