Explosion at 'Violanta' Factory in Trikala Claims Five Lives

The 'Violanta' company expressed its deep sorrow over the death of five employees in an explosion that occurred at its factory in Trikala early Monday morning. The company is committed to supporting the victims' families with significant financial assistance, including a monthly allowance equal to their salary until retirement age, monthly support for their children until adulthood, and an immediate payment equivalent to six months' salary. Additionally, it will provide psychological support to all employees. The management of 'Violanta' emphasized that the company strictly adheres to safety protocols and is fully cooperating with the authorities to investigate the causes of the tragic incident. The fire department continues its search operations at the facilities. According to reports, the explosion occurred while employees were cutting the New Year's pie. The basement of the building, where the production department is located, was engulfed in flames and the roof collapsed, resulting in the deaths of the five women. Five other employees on duty survived and were taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons. The company stated that the shift was reduced due to the holiday, which may have prevented a larger tragedy.
