A team of experts from the Ministry of Culture will travel to Ghent this Saturday to examine photographic documents depicting the faces of the 200 patriots executed in Kaisariani during the Nazi occupation. The purpose of the mission is to determine the authenticity and legality of the origin of the photographs, as well as their historical value. If the photographs are deemed authentic and legally obtained, the Ministry of Culture will proceed with legal action to acquire them. So far, the KKE has identified two of the people in the photos: Thrasyvoulos Kalafatakis and Dimitris Papadopoulos. The Belgian collector Tim de Kren, owner of the photographs, says he is willing to engage in constructive dialogue with the Greek authorities and will make decisions regarding the future of the photographs with care and responsibility.
