Eurydice Pericleous-Papadopoulou on the Shortlist for the 2026 European Union Prize for Literature

Cypriot author Eurydice Pericleous-Papadopoulou has been shortlisted for the 2026 European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) with her book “καὶ πολλὰ ἐπικράνθη– Helen of Karpasia.” Inclusion on the shortlist means her work is Cyprus' official national entry and is in the final stage of evaluation. The book, which moves in the field of biographical fiction and focuses on the life of Eleni Foka, has already been honored with the State Novel Prize. The EUPL aims to highlight emerging literary voices and promote the cross-border circulation of European literature through translations. A total of 14 authors from various European countries are included on this year’s shortlist.
