Eurostat: Cyprus Fourth in EU for Life Expectancy in 2024

Life expectancy in Cyprus was 83.55 years in 2024, higher than the European Union average of 81.5 years, according to Eurostat. Men in Cyprus have a life expectancy of 81.5 years, while women have 85.6 years. Cyprus ranks fourth in the EU, after Spain, Sweden and Italy. At the regional level, the Community of Madrid has the highest life expectancy (85.7 years), while the lowest values are recorded in regions of Bulgaria and France. Eurostat notes that life expectancy has recovered after the decline observed in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
