Cyprus Leads in AI Adoption Among Young People in the EU

According to Eurostat data, 76.5% of Cypriots aged 16-24 used generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in 2025, a significantly higher percentage than the EU average (63.8%). Eurostat's research shows that young people are integrating AI into various areas of their lives, primarily for private use (44.2%) and educational purposes (39.3%), compared to 9.4% of the general population. Professional use remains lower (15.8%) due to many young people not yet entering the labor market. At the EU level, Greece (83.5%), Estonia (82.8%), and the Czech Republic (78.5%) recorded the highest rates of AI use among young people, while Romania (44.1%), Italy (47.2%), and Poland (49.3%) recorded the lowest. This indicates significant differences in AI adoption among the various EU member states. The increased use of AI by young people highlights the importance of technology in everyday life and education. Eurostat emphasizes that AI is becoming increasingly integral to the lives of young people, offering new opportunities and challenges. This data provides valuable information for the development of policies and initiatives aimed at promoting digital education and enhancing the skills of young people in the field of AI, so that they can fully utilize its potential.
