Cyprus Records Highest Annual GDP Growth in Eurozone in Q4 2025

Cyprus recorded the highest annual GDP growth among Eurozone member states in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a growth rate of 4.5% year-on-year, according to Eurostat. On a quarterly basis, GDP increased by 1.4% compared to the third quarter of 2025. This growth significantly exceeds the average for the Eurozone and the EU, which both recorded a 0.3% increase. Year-on-year, GDP in the Eurozone increased by 1.3% and in the EU by 1.5% in the fourth quarter of 2025. For the whole of 2025, GDP is estimated to have increased by 1.5% in the Eurozone and 1.6% in the EU. These figures indicate a general upward trend, although the rate of growth is relatively stable. At the same time, employment in Cyprus, the Eurozone and the EU increased in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter. Specifically, employment figures for Cyprus were not provided, while in the Eurozone and the EU it increased by 0.2% respectively. Year-on-year, employment increased by 0.6% in the Eurozone and 0.7% in the EU. For the whole of 2025, employment is estimated to have increased by 0.7% in the Eurozone and 0.5% in the EU. These positive employment trends suggest an improvement in working conditions and economic activity.
