European University Cyprus Medical School: Scientific Conference Ahead of the 2026 Cypriot EU Presidency

The Medical School of the European University Cyprus, in collaboration with the Cyprus Atherosclerosis Society and the Office of the Citizens' Commissioner, is organizing a scientific conference on cardiovascular health on January 8, 2026, at the Presidential Palace, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus. The conference is part of the preparatory actions for the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2026. The theme of the conference is “From Prevention to Precision: Promoting Cardiovascular Health through Innovation and Personalized Care – From Scientific Evidence to Real Impact.” The aim is to highlight the latest developments in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, with an emphasis on innovation and a personalized approach. The conference is expected to be attended by high-level institutional stakeholders, including the President of the Republic, the Minister of Health, the Citizens' Commissioner, Members of Parliament, and representatives of patients and health organizations. It will also feature academics and clinical scientists from the Universities of Thessaly and Athens, as well as Cypriot scientists. The conference aims to highlight the modern challenges of cardiovascular disease, promote prevention and early diagnosis, provide information on innovative treatments, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and support national preparation for the 2026 Cypriot EU Presidency. Participation is free, but pre-registration is required.
