European Parliament Freezes EU-US Trade Deal Over Greenland

The European Parliament has decided to suspend work on the trade agreement between the EU and the US, in protest at President Trump's desire to buy Greenland and his threats to impose tariffs on European allies who oppose his plan. The agreement included the lifting of EU tariffs on US products and the continuation of zero tariffs on US lobsters. Many MEPs had already expressed the view that the agreement was one-sided, with the EU being forced to make greater concessions. The European Parliament's trade committee was forced to postpone its votes on the agreement.
