EU Commission: Broad Support for Digital Markets Act – What More is Being Asked For?

The European Commission has published a summary of the responses received during the public consultation on the review of the Digital Markets Act (DMA). The consultation showed broad support for the regulation's key objectives, with stakeholders recognizing the benefits it has already begun to bring to the European digital economy. However, requests were also made to strengthen and expand the regulation, particularly in areas such as interoperability, data access, SME support, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing services. Digital gatekeepers expressed criticism regarding the impact of certain regulations on user experience and the proportionality of the measures. The Commission will evaluate the feedback and submit a review report by May 3, 2026.
