Erhurman: “We Have Submitted Numerous Proposals for Checkpoints”

T/C leader Tufan Erhurman states that he has submitted numerous proposals for the new checkpoints, including those at Louroujina, Mia Milia, Athienou, and Aglantzia. He believes that Mia Milia and Louroujina would benefit both communities, while a second checkpoint in Nicosia would reduce traffic pressure at Agios Dometios. Regarding the Athienou-Aglantzia road, he emphasizes that it would primarily benefit G/C, which he does not object to. However, his proposals for this road, such as the construction of a new road with Turkish funding or the use of the buffer zone with European funding, were not accepted. He accuses President Christodoulides of insisting on his initial position for a road exclusively within the buffer zone, and believes that recent G/C suggestions for new checkpoints are an attempt to undermine existing discussions. He pledges that the T/C side will continue to work with sincerity and patience.
