Erhurman Proposes Regular Meetings with Christodoulides: "Let's Utilize Time Effectively"

The Turkish Cypriot leader, Erhurman, proposed to President Christodoulides regular meetings between the two leaders, even without the mediation of the UN. The proposal was made during a trilateral meeting also attended by the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, Maria Angela Holguin. Mr. Erhurman emphasized the need for continued dialogue and effective use of time, suggesting meetings for coffee or tea. President Christodoulides accepted the idea and instructed the Greek Cypriot negotiator to schedule a meeting within the next two weeks. Furthermore, Mr. Erhurman expressed the view that meetings between the negotiators are not frequent enough.
