Egypt's Energy Minister Discusses 'Aphrodite' Agreements with Chevron

Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with Chevron officials in Washington to discuss finalizing the agreements related to connecting the 'Aphrodite' natural gas field in Cyprus with Egypt's energy infrastructure. Discussions focused on accelerating the project's implementation and strengthening coordination with Cyprus. The strategic importance of Egypt as a regional energy hub and the value of its existing infrastructure were emphasized. Both sides agreed to hold a new meeting in Cairo at the end of March, coinciding with the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2026) exhibition.
