African Book Festival Returns to Marrakech

The African Book Festival is returning to Marrakech, Morocco, with the participation of renowned authors and intellectuals from Africa and its diaspora. Among the guests are Yanick Lahens from Haiti, a delegation from the French Academy, and Patrick Chamoiseau from Martinique, as well as Ève Guerra, a debutante at the Prix Goncourt 2024. The participating authors are French, Arabic, and English-speaking, representing the diversity of African literature. The central venue for meetings and discussions will be the Stars of Jemaa el-Fna, a historic monument in the heart of Marrakech. Events will also be held at Cadi Ayyad University, the Agricultural School for Girls, Es-Saâdi Palace, the Meydene Interactive Cultural Center, and for the first time in the maternity and pediatric department of the University Hospital of Marrakech. The festival aims to promote African literature and strengthen dialogue between cultures.
