Romania's DN6: The 'Road of Death' Where 7 PAOK Fans Lost Their Lives

Seven Greek PAOK fans tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Romania, on the DN6 highway, which is known as the 'road of death' due to the high number of accidents and fatalities recorded each year (60-70). The van carrying the fans collided head-on with a truck after the driver attempted a dangerous overtake and lost control. Six people died instantly, while a seventh succumbed to their injuries in hospital. The deceased were young men, aged 28-30, who were travelling to Lyon to support their team in a match. DN6 has been identified as one of the most dangerous roads in Romania, with Romanian media reporting over 320 accidents in the Lugojel area in the past year.
