Dispute Between Limassol Mayor and TEPAK Rector – Old Hospital Development Divides the City

A dispute has arisen between the Mayor of Limassol, Yannis Armeftis, and the Rector of the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK), Panagiotis Zafiris, regarding the development of the Old Limassol Hospital. The Municipality seeks joint utilization of the area through a unified master plan, while TEPAK is proceeding with the construction of infrastructure for the School of Health Sciences and the First School of Engineering of Limassol, having already received a ministerial decision for the allocation of the space. The Mayor calls on the Government and other bodies to take initiatives for a comprehensive plan, while the Rector states that there will be no negotiations and is proceeding with the architectural competition it has announced.
