Dismissed Abbot Criticizes Church Hierarchy Over Monk Expulsion

The dismissed abbot of the Monastery of Saint Abbakum, Nektarios, has launched a scathing attack on the Holy Synod, the Metropolitan of Tamasos Isaiah, the Prosecutor General, and the Archbishop, marking two years since the expulsion of five monks. Nektarios disputes the dismissal of the monks, calling it a “so-called dismissal” and argues that the Synod's decision is invalid. He accuses Isaiah of “devouring his own children,” while pointing out that the monks were expelled without means of livelihood. Nektarios claims that a trap was set that led to the destruction of lives and that the silence of the powerful is complicity. He strongly criticizes the Attorney General for inaction and the Archbishop for incompetence and silence in the matter. He believes that the monks and their families are paying the price for an injustice that has not been corrected.
