Dhiplaros on Allegations Against Sykas: Zero Tolerance for Violence, Respect for Justice - Next Steps for DISY

Investigators from the Limassol TAE and Police Headquarters have delivered the material related to the alleged abuse of a woman by DISY MP Nikos Sykas to the Legal Service. The case has caused serious damage to the party and dominates political interest. The leadership of DISY, through statements by Deputy President Evthymios Dhiplaros, has reacted immediately and clearly, condemning any form of violence and emphasizing respect for the presumption of innocence and Justice. Mr. Dhiplaros stated that the decision not to include Mr. Sykas on the ballot was made by the leadership and the Executive Bureau of the party, while the MP himself has stated that he will contribute to clarifying the truth. Nevertheless, Mr. Sykas remains a member of the parliamentary group, with the expectation that Justice will move quickly and without interference. The case causes sorrow and sadness to the Democratic Rally. Regarding Mr. Sykas's participation in the Political Bureau meeting on January 7th, Mr. Dhiplaros noted that he is a member of the body, but does not know if he will attend. As for the ballot, the position of Mr. Sykas will be taken by the first substitute, according to the party's statutes.
