Denmark Continues Military Buildup in Greenland Amidst US Interest

Denmark is continuing its military buildup in Greenland, amidst interest from former US President Donald Trump in purchasing the autonomous territory. The Danish Arctic Command announced the deployment of special forces (Jägerkorpset) to the Blosseville Coast, aiming to strengthen the country's presence in the Arctic. Simultaneously, the Arctic Endurance military exercise is underway, involving Danish and other European ships, such as the French frigate Bretagne. The deployment of military forces by other European countries to Greenland, shortly after Trump's announcement about potentially buying the island, provoked a reaction from him, who accused these countries of playing a “very dangerous game” and threatened additional tariffs.
